Isaac Powell, an American actor and singer, graduated from the University of North Carolina School of the Arts (UNCSA) with a degree in acting in 2017.
Two months later, the North Carolina native secured the role of Daniel in the Tony Award-winning Broadway revival of Once On This Island, a role which also gave him a Grammy nomination for his contribution to the soundtrack. In order to stay in New York City after the production closed, Powell took a part time job at boutique floral-design company, Putnam & Putnam, before being cast as the lead role of Tony in Ivo van Howe’s Broadway revival of West Side Story last year. The 25 year old made headlines earlier this year when show producer Scott Rudin postponed the opening night of West Side Story by two weeks to wait for a recuperating Powell, who had injured his knee onstage during preview performances. The young actor, who was recently snapped up by Creative Artists Agency (CAA), has also dipped his toe into modelling as a side project, appearing in campaigns for Helmut Lang and walking for Palomo Spain at New York Fashion Week.
